Small businesses are switching to VoIP (using the internet to transmit phone calls) to both save money and add a host of features. Learn More
If you hate missing calls, the larger business VoIP providers have features to make sure critical calls don’t go to voicemail unnecessarily. “Find Me, Follow Me” features enable you to have calls forwarded to multiple numbers and devices. The call can ring on your office phone, your mobile phone, your land line, and your home computer. Basically, any traditional telephone or internet connected device can receive the call.
However, there is a downside to this connectivity. When I was thinking about this cartoon, I was originally imagining situations where I might not want to be accessible. Instead I decided to focus on a choice offered by the business service provider, Ring Central. You can have different numbers be run sequentially or all at once. While ringing multiple numbers at once would appear to be a more efficient choice, there are some downsides as the cartoon shows!
