QuickBooks Payment Pricing
The QuickBooks Online Payments option offers a “pay as you go” plan. This option doesn’t require monthly upfront payments. Fees for this plan range from 2.4% to 3.4% per transaction with $.25 of fees added on top of that.
On the other hand, QuickBooks Desktop Payments offers two payment options — pay as you go or monthly. The pay as you go plan doesn’t require monthly charges, but has higher applicable rates. The monthly option has a $20 monthly fee, but has lower rates.

The main difference between Online and Desktop is that the former is cloud-based and can be accessed on any device as long as there’s internet, while the latter can only be accessed on the computer it was installed on regardless of whether or not there’s internet connection.
The rates above, both for Online Payment and Desktop Payment, are for businesses earning up to $7,500 per month. Their website indicates that you need to call them for rates if your business processes more than $7,500 monthly — and you’ll save up to 40%.
