I have noticed medium to large publications and companies that provide, news, updates and alerts rely solely on email, why is this?
The stats on text (SMS) are higher on open rates, click through and read within 3 minutes of being received.
I agree 100% that text messaging is highly under used and can be much more effective than email and other forms of marketing.
