How We Determined Quality of User Review Websites
- Merchant Maverick has a very informative staff review, as well as a number of detailed user reviews. It’s also visible in the user reviews if it’s a review of an earlier version, or the current version.
- G2 Crowd has a fair combination of negative and positive reviews, all from verified users and all organized into categories.

BigCommerce has standard month-to-month rates, but you get $10 off per month if you decide to opt for a full year. Each pricing plan is dependent on how much your business makes online every year, from $50K to $400K a year. For larger businesses, an additional $150 per month is required for every additional $200K in online sales. If you reach the limit of sales for your plan, you will automatically be upgraded to the next plan level.
They don’t offer a custom domain for any of the pricing plans. The standard web address for every BigCommerce account is a .mybigcommercestore.com domain. You can purchase a domain from a third party provider like GoDaddy if you want a custom domain.
For online payment processing, BigCommerce integrates well with a number of merchant service providers such as Stripe, Square and Authorize.net. However, they have partnered specifically with PayPal powered by Braintree for what is said to be a more seamless experience.
Best Pricing Option for Small Business Owners
The best pricing option will depend on how much your annual online sales are as BigCommerce has a limit for each plan. You will be able to change plans as you start to sell more through your online store.
