Black lives matter.
We stand in solidarity with our Black colleagues and the Black community in the fight against racism and injustice.
Today we acknowledge the murder of George Floyd and the mark that he has left on the world. We also acknowledge that this is not simply one tragic act of violence, but representative of the broader racism and systemic violence against Black people in America.
People are rightfully angry about this tragedy. We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. The wide ranging nature and diversity represented in this movement are the seeds of a better world that the majority of people want to live in. It’s our duty to make sure that these seeds are watered so that they are nourished and grow.
As a result of recent events, we are looking internally at our own company and identifying how we can do a better job of supporting our Black colleagues, Black small business owners, and the Black community at large. We want to send our message of solidarity today and also to commit to taking further actions as a company. We will publish updates in the coming weeks.
This is not a short term fight. The change that the Black Lives Matter movement is inspiring will require consistent focus. We have work to do. We start that work today.
