Cayan Customer Reviews
Summary of User Reviews
We scoured hundreds of reviews to determine why Cayan has generally negative ratings. Here’s what we found:
What Cayan does well:
Cayan does an average job of taking accountability when addressing their customers’ complaints. Several online reviews where users complained about different issues received sincere apologies from the company’s reps who provided a resolution.
What Cayan does not do well:
Most of the negative reviews about Cayan were about undisclosed fees (like PCI compliance), withheld funds, challenges in getting connected with the customer support, and difficulty in terminating accounts.
Most Helpful Positive User Review
One user who gave Cayan a positive review on Merchant Maverick said that the company provided him a free online terminal which allowed him to accept payments even when cards are not present — which meant that he no longer had to subscribe to a third-party software for card-not-present transactions.
Most Helpful Negative User Review
One user who gave Cayan a negative review on Card Payment Options said that he had already cancelled his account several months ago, but that Cayan is still automatically debiting his bank account for charges. He mentioned contacting support several times to get the issue resolved, but is getting the same response that it is being corrected — which clearly hasn’t happened because he’s still being charged.

Pricing and fees for payment processing services that Cayan offers are not available on their website. However, Card Fellow has an extensive discussion about how Cayan’s rates are calculated. Based on their computation, Cayan’s fees range from .39% – 3.68% depending on the type of payment used.
Cayan utilizes a six-tier pricing model. This kind of pricing structure conceals interchange fees, makes way for hidden fees, and allows the processor to intercept vouchers on credit card refunds. Because of this, Card Fellow claims that Cayan’s pricing is actually more expensive than how it initially appears.
