Why We Recommend PracticeMojo as the Best Dental Marketing Software
PracticeMojo gives you all the main dental marketing features and then some. Not only can you can send automated appointment reminders via phone, text and email, but you can also send up to 100 postcards a month for free. These cost $1 each through LightHouse 360 and they aren’t even offered by SolutionReach. Another unique feature is that you get complimentary marketing consultations in which PracticeMojo can set up events like a Halloween candy buy-back.
At $249/month with no setup fees, PracticeMojo is also the most affordable of the 3 programs. Lighthouse 360 is $299/month (with an additional $299 setup fee) and you also have to pay extra for phone reminders and postcards. SolutionReach is $479/month and also requires a $399 setup fee.
Finally, Practice Mojo has advanced add-on options, including a professional SEO optimized website for your practice and lead generation through LeadFire. So even if you’re brand new to web marketing, Practice Mojo gives you everything you need to get started.
When to Use Lighthouse 360 or SolutionReach
Lighthouse 360 and SolutionReach have a few advanced features I did not find from PracticeMojo. Waitlist messaging, for example, helps you fill last-minute cancellations by texting a list of willing patients. They also get your practice listed in local directories, which can help you get more leads and boost your website page rank in search engines. This is offered through PracticeMojo, but, as far as I could tell, only if you set up the “LeadFire” add on.
They also integrate with more practice management platforms (Lighthouse 360 has a list of 34 platforms and SolutionReach integrates with over 250), so if your software isn’t supported by PracticeMojo, these companies are a better bet. As far as deciding which to choose, the answer is a tossup. Lighthouse 360 is cheaper, but when you factor in the cost of phone calls, the difference can be marginal. Lighthouse 360 also has postcards, but SolutionReach has a unique tablet app for customer reviews.
Given that PracticeMojo has almost all the same tools AND is cheaper AND provides one-on-one marketing consultations, we feel it’s most often the stronger choice.
PracticeMojo is the most affordable of the 3 programs, starting at $179/month, or $249/month for the most popular edition. Lighthouse 360 is just a little more expensive at $299/month, but that can easily boost to $400/month when you consider the additional cost of phone reminders and postcards (which are complimentary with PracticeMojo). SolutionReach is the most expensive at $479/month.
Note: all of these rates are for month-to-month contracts. SolutionReach also offers a 2-year contract for $379/month.
Each of these programs give you the major dental marketing features, including:
- Appoint Reminders automatically sent via phone, SMS or email.
- Follow-up Reminders and other promotional message campaigns.
- Secure Two-Way Texting so you can text patients without violating HIPAA compliance standards.
- Reputation Management Tools that help you build reviews for your practice. You can send your patients a survey to fill out, then post the positive reviews directly to your website or a separate microsite. Or, you can have patients automatically sent a request to review your practice on Google+, Yelp, Angie’s List or whatever review site you prefer.
- Facebook Marketing. Each program does this differently, so we’ll get into Facebook integration in the next section.
Some of the additional tools that vary between the 3 programs are postcard reminders, directory listings, one-on-one marketing consultations and advanced messaging tools. Here’s how they compare:
Each of these services can also help promote your business on Facebook (or Twitter, with SolutionReach). Here’s how they compare:
Setup / Integrations
Each of these programs link directly with your practice management software to access patient information and your appointment calendar. You cannot import contacts manually. PracticeMojo, Lighthouse 360 and SolutionReach all support the major practice management platforms, including Dentrix and Eaglesoft. If you use a less-common program, however, then you may need to go with SolutionReach, as they support the largest number of integrations.
Setup time varies between the 3 programs. PracticeMojo is the fastest, getting their customers up and running in 1 hour. Lighthouse 360 is the longest with setup taking up to 7 days.
All 3 programs have phone and email support available during extended business hours (roughly 8am to 7pm EST). PracticeMojo also has live chat support available during the same time.
The Bottom Line
We recommend PracticeMojo because they give you all the key tools at a much lower price than their competitors. You also get the perks of free one-on-one marketing help, complimentary postcards, live chat support and immediate setup.
