Summary of LawDepot User Reviews
What LawDepot does well:
According to the positive reviews online, users find it easy to use LawDepot by themselves. Users are pleased with the customer service responsiveness and the personalized assistance for procuring and printing out documents from the website.
What LawDepot does not do well:
Most of the negative reviews we saw were focused on the misleading sales front of LawDepot. According to the site, the legal forms are free. However, once a user is done filling out their legal document, they are asked for their billing information before they can save or print it out. Apart from that, clients complained that they are sometimes overcharged for the plans that they purchased.
What Online Legal Service is Right for You?
Most Helpful Positive User Review:
One user who left a positive review for LawDepot on SiteJabber said that she needed to download a Power of Attorney form and had difficulty printing it. The customer service representative assigned to her was very helpful and she was able to do it properly the second time around.
Most Helpful Negative User Review:
One user who left negative feedback for LawDepot on the Better Business Bureau said that he feels their website is deceiving. He says that the forms are purported to be free, but he has to add his credit card information and will eventually be charged for the forms he downloaded. He feels that this process is not secure and that LawDepot is not advertising their services properly.

Sometimes its just the best solutions. Normally I prefer to hire lawyer to prepare our papers, but from time to time for simple things – this service is the best
Customization of paper is quite inconvenient to me
Wish found it earlier)

LawDepot is instantly easy to use with its well-designed website. Follow the guidance of LawDepot to get to the documents and membership plans you need with just a few clicks. Even if you don’t see what you need highlighted, you can type in a search box the document you need and search LawDepot’s library.
The opportunity to try the service through a free trial is a a good move by LawDepot. If you do want to subscribe, the annual cost is less than $100. You also have the option of purchasing one document at a time, which could cost as little as $7.50 and up to $39. This pricing structure makes it easy for any small business owner to afford exactly what they need.
Extended customer support hours are a great idea, as many small business owners need their focus elsewhere during business hours. On weekdays, you can call LawDepot from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST.
The live chat representative we spoke with was helpful in explaining the pricing for a document versus the monthly fee versus the annual plan.
If you choose to sign up for the free trial, you’ll have access to the documents you need for free. However, if you don’t cancel within the 7-day trial, you’ll be automatically billed for a month’s service, which costs $33. That’s only one-third of the annual subscription cost, so it seems exorbitant. Plus, it has a bit of a “gotcha” feel to it, and partially explains some of the negative reviews of LawDepot.
LawDepot only provides access to legal documents, not access to lawyers, so your questions to customer service will only be about the service they provide and not legal help.
It’s important to read the fine print, FAQs, and other areas with information on a company’s website, but pricing information should be front and center. Pricing is not immediately clear on LawDepot’s website. In fact, you won’t get the pricing information unless you seek it out or start filling out a document first. Transparency could help clear up miscommunication or misunderstanding for a lot of users.
