It is nice to track sales back by any date, and to extract inventory data to excel. Actually, you can extract almost any data to excel, which allows a lot of customized work to be done.
It’s hard to learn how to use in the beginning. It is not a very “user friendly” tool. Without proper training, there will be a lot of struggles. But once you learn how to use it, it becomes simple.
I wish this came to my senses long time ago ..

I like the setup because we have two entities and need to toggle between them. We use infinia to import long journal entries which is nice to have since it recognizes valid GL’s. I have used a few other in-house programs and this one is the best.

Dynamics GP is the way that accounting, financials and inventory management should be. It’s not the most pretty thing to look at- but it gets the job done and gets it done well. It has tons and tons of options for everything under the sun. The best part is that it can be customized with lots of front end apps that tie into the back end database. This gives it a bunch of flexibility.
Could look a bit more “pretty”, but don’t have anything negative to say at this time.
I think nothing.

Thankfully, I dont have to use GreatPlains very often and that is my favorite part.
I dislike most of everything. It’s is not user friendly. You can’t “delete” an item or a record as you can in most systems. It’s interaction with other programs is flawed at best (and we don’t even have it connected to other programs because its just causes issues).
I knew everything..

Although it takes a few days to learn the ropes and some tasks may be repetitive, it’s easy to get the hang of it.
Some tasks, such as adding information for a third party who is paying for a customer in Point of Sale, takes a while; even more so when you need to remove the third party and replace it with a different one.
