When Denmark met MIT and pencils that want to become plants.
I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to you today to introduce you to my client Sprout World and its Founder/CEO, Michael Stausholm (www.sproutworld.com).
When Denmark met MIT and pencils that want to be plants…a true business success story.
In 2013 Danish Entrepreneur and CEO Michael Stausholm launched Sprout Pencil after seeing a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign from three American MIT students out of Boston who invented Sprout. This crowd-funding campaign far exceeded all expectations and within 30 days of its launch raised nearly $40,000 from over 2,000 investors.
“I was excited about the idea and thought it to have a great deal of potential.” – Michael Stausholm
Sprout Pencil is the first pencil that grows. When the Sprout Pencil becomes too short to use simply plant the stub and it’ll sprout into fabulous herbs, delicious veggies, and beautiful flowers. Sprout is the ideal item that will truly give back to the environment All Sprout Pencils are made in the USA from FSC-certified wood and are 100% non-toxic with no lead or artificial materials.
Introducing the new line of Sprout colored pencils as well.
Because of his extensive background in both business consulting and sustainability, Stausholm put forth a deal to the MIT students for distribution and sales in Europe for the first iteration of pencils which were launched in shops during June of 2013. He has since bought out the students and today is the majority shareholder of Sprout, which owns all of the patents and IP rights to the pencils.
Today Sprout Pencil is taking the United States by storm with its collection of pencils that can be planted to grow herbs, vegetables, and flowers all while reinforcing a message of sustainability that will ultimately give back to the environment.
In addition, the ambitions for Sprout are big. With a capital investment in the spring of 2015 from a Danish investor, Sprout has its eye on an ever growing and evolving presence in the American market. The aim is to become a world leader in innovative, sustainable, and green consumer products made from biodegradable materials all made and produced under socially responsible working conditions.
We would love the opportunity to share samples of Sprout Pencil with you for your review and consideration for possible coverage.
