One thing to keep in mind when considering paying for “sure-fire guaranteed method” courses for selling on Amazon is that you don’t ever get a “sell this item this way” answer. Figuring out WHAT to sell on Amazon is the biggest challenge, and that simply takes work, research, trial and error. You can learn how to do much of that for free with our guide: What to Sell on Amazon in 2017.
Paid courses usually explain how the platform works, give you strategies for researching and sourcing products and writing listing pages a certain way, and some ideas for marketing. The problem I have with them is they’re usually a springboard for you to spend more money with them in “private coaching sessions.”
I recommend doing plenty of homework for free first to understand the Amazon environment. Then you’re in a better position to judge whether these courses provide information that’s worth your time and money.
Our free Amazon guides are a great place to start since I wrote them specifically for the new Amazon seller:
How to Sell on Amazon – Gives you the basics of how it all works and the different ways to sell on Amazon as a startup.
Amazon Seller Fees – A full overview of the fees you’ll pay to Amazon as a seller and how to know your costs going in.
Fulfillment by Amazon – Is FBA Right for Your Business? – This is how Amazon’s popular FBA program works. This article is in update status now, the new version covering Amazon’s new, more streamlined fee structure will be published in early Nov. 2017.
Good luck with your Amazon plans! Let me know if you have further questions.
