What does the company do well? Hootsuite is an excellent, robust way to manage social profiles and accounts for clients across almost all networks. The ability to schedule, pull in RSS feeds to automatically tweet relevant content, and reduce the clutter of the native apps saves me so much time, energy, concentration, and overall mental burden. The layout options are also fantastic. I love that I can see all my scheduled posts across all clients and networks in one place, or I can go to the individual tabs to see them too. Some scheduling tools have one or the other, but Hootsuite has both, and I use both.
What does the company not do well? They used to have recommended content, which I really like, but I haven't seen that in the desktop app in a while. The only other issue, and this isn't something that Hootsuite can necessarily solve, is that Instagram scheduling still requires me to post manually at some point. While this is native to Instagram, I do think there's an app out there that has figured a way around this. Getting up to post at 6:00am Pacific Time so that I can have something up by 9am Eastern Time isn't ideal.
What about the company do you wish you had known before purchasing? If someone else has control of a social media account through Hootsuite, it hasn't always been easy sharing that across Hootsuite accounts or getting access back, especially if the person with control no longer works for the business that I'm trying to manage social for.
