What does the company do well?
I have been using FreeAgent for about 4 years now. I selected it over Xero because at the time the system handled Dividend vouchers better. It is really easy to use as a system with good support either online or by phone. I really like the dashboard that enables me to see at a glance my financial position. What invoices are due, my cash flow, money in the bank, may tax timeline & what retained profit I have as well as other useful info. Adding new customers & invoices is easy & I can set up projects and record time against them to invoice easily. The system also handles my payroll and reports directly to HMRC via RTI. It also does my self-assessment return! Can't do my company return but my accountant has access to the system and has easy access to the information he needs to file. Saves me money Bank reconciliation is easy to with a direct link to my account. It really has made running my business so much easier making the admin so much less of a chore :-)
What does the company not do well?
As I use other systems it would be great if FreeAgent has more connections to other software such as CRM systems. The integration with Stripe & GoCardless is useful though and they do have an API but it would be easier if there were more native/pre-built integrations. This is where Zero has the market cornered. It's not the cheapest package on the market but I get it through my accountant so get it cheaper.
What about the company do you wish you had known before purchasing?
Nothing really. I did extensive research before selecting FreeAgent with trials of Xero, Quickbooks and a few other systems. FreeAgent came out on top.
