What does the company do well?
I have been a Lunarpages customer on their shared hosting plan for many years, and was attracted by their good prices. Their support is also very responsive and capable. The one time I had to restore some files from a backup they were also very helpful.
What does the company not do well?
Over the many years that I have been with Lunarpages, I have been hosting a couple of small sites, which do not get a lot of traffic. Unfortunately, over the last year or so Lunarpages has started throttling access to my sites due to what they consider to be excessive resource usage, and as a result these sites are sometimes offline. My personal blog had a total of 25 minutes of downtime over the last 30 days, which gives a total of 99.94% of uptime during this period.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using?
I wish I had known that Lunarpages would start throttling my sites, even though they do not have a lot of visits which have not increased significantly over the years, Unfortunately I renewed on a five year plan but I am already looking around for an alternative.
