What does the company do well? AccurateNow offers the bare minimum of background check information in its basic option, but it seems to be just enough for any small business. Getting started is easy, after your application is approved by AccurateNow’s staff, which takes about one business day. After that, you’ll be able to log into the website and start ordering background checks. I think it’s probably one of the best choices out there for small businesses because you don’t have to pay a monthly fee or buy background checks in bulk. The as-you-need-it basis is ideal for companies that aren’t doing a lot of hiring at once. Plus, the pricing is reasonable for what you’re getting. And add ons are all priced at $9.95, so I didn’t find myself going back to the pricing chart to make sure I could afford each add on. Another aspect to AccurateNow I liked was how they handle information gathering. As you may know, an applicant must be notified of a background check and agree in writing. All you give AccurateNow is the person’s name and email address, and the applicant is looped in. They fill out the sensitive information, such as social security number, address, etc. They electronically “sign” for consent, and you just have to wait for the updated status. All the details of a background check are laid out in an easy-to-read format, and AccurateNow makes it even easier by offering green checks by each category to show that there are no questionable reports. Also, you can login on your smartphone, so you can check statuses wherever you are. Customer service is prompt to respond, friendly, and helpful. Also, at no point did I feel pressured to buy anything.
What does the company not do well? Compared to other background check services, it seems like AccurateNow offers fewer services. It charges you to send pre-adverse and adverse letters, unlike others.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using? AccurateNow offers drug screening, but the price isn’t listed on its site. The cost is $49.95, which is middle-of-the-road comparatively, but because all the other add ons were priced at $9.95 or less, it’s easy to assume drug screening would be similarly priced.
