What does the company do well?
I've been using FreeAgent for just over four years, since moving to the US. I wanted an accounting package that would work in multiple currencies (without charging a huge amount for the facility), and that would follow my bank and PayPal accounts. FreeAgent does all of this, and handles a lot of a double entry bookkeeping side of things for me too - but without looking like a bookkeeping package. Customer support is always prompt, friendly and helpful. And I love that each time I introduce a friend, my monthly payment goes down (if I had enough signups, FreeAgent would actually be paying me - which is a truly great referral program!)
What does the company not do well?
I'd like more customisation for what appears on invoices, but it's not really been a problem. And some of the accounting side of things seems - at least from my CPA's perspective - to be designed with HMRC in mind, rather than the IRS. But we've made it work.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using?
Nothing comes to mind.
