Turbo Tax always updates the current tax and deduction rules and has a large help database. It has tools to get your previous years tax info into the current one. It takes you step by step through all the forms you need to complete, through different types of employments and documents to upload. It also warns you if you may have other opportunities and deductions. With Expert Help, Live Assist and Review you can ask help right away or you can have an Expert review your taxes before you submit them. Most of the times you may learn new useful things that you did not think before. some of these may reduce your taxes. One of the latest update allows you to get your Notice of Assessment right away, after you submit your return. That helps if you need to submit your return to confirm your income for health benefit and other purposes. Turbo Tax also stores your previous years income tax, so it is easy to refer to these or download them. Turbo Tax partners with different banks and other institutions to offer 10-20% off Turbo Tax discounts to their clients. If you have a simple tax return, you can even use their free version.
What does the company not do well? Sometimes you have to wait for some of the new legislation to be put into place in the software, which is understandable. Generally you can start your taxes in the second half of January. I do not see any negative side of Turbo Tax.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using? I wish I would start with Turbo Tax earlier. I used to go to an accountant to do my taxes, but now we can do these on our own.I'm using it now for 4 years and it helps me to reduce my tax preparation expenses, learn new things every year and getting used to use the software and get my taxes ready faster and professional.
