What does the software or service do well?
The original website purchased was great, fairly easy to set up and many ways to customize content. I was happy with it until they decided to "upgrade" their platform. Nightmare!
What does the software or service not do well?
There are glitches with the new set up - starting with you have to practically build the site yourself with the upgrade and it's very time-consuming and frustrating. I've spent HOURS updating one of my two sites and have "published" multiple times, everything looks fine on websitebox but when I try to pull up my new site, it only loads the old site. I've tried everything - cleared cache, tried on multiple devices, different browsers, even tried deleting my domain name in websitebox and adding it back, thinking maybe I could break the glitch. Nothing. And I've been contacting support for TWO DAYS with NO RESPONSE.
What do you wish you had known about the software or service before using?
That I would be forced into this upgrade with ZERO applicable support available. I am having 4 issues so far with this upgrade and NONE of the videos or support docs address these issues. Also wished I had known the support response would be unacceptable. Of course I purchased these sites 4 years ago so I'm sure they don't care about me anymore....
Have you used a competitor to the software or service? If so, how does it compare?
I have used Yahoo sitebuilder and GoDaddy templates before - it was okay but complicated at the time and I don't think it looks as nice as the WB sites. But now with all the work that is needed for the upgrade, the only difference is being able to add IDX which is crucial to me as an agent. I think these sites look more professional, but if they are not working properly....it doesn't matter at all.
