What does SurveyMonkey do well? SurveyMonkey is a great, reasonably priced way to create surveys that are really easy to customize for your brand. I love the ability to create themes for your surveys so when you’re making them for a specific event or client, you can easily create a coherent brand throughout. The data is easy to export, but, oftentimes, the way it’s laid out makes it difficult to manipulate and create graphical representations on your own. It is also difficult to work collaboratively on a survey. We do surveys for clients and find that the only way to share and get feedback before distributing the surveys is to send them a live link of the survey, versus the ability to work together on the editing side.
What does SurveyMonkey not do well? I think the reporting feature leaves a lot to be desired. It has customizing options, but just not enough. Oftentimes the questions are cut off and it's hard to truly digest complicated results.
What do you wish you had known about SurveyMonkey before using? If I had truly looked at the reporting it would have changed the way I laid out my surveys to ensure the results could be easily distributed.
