When can you charge employee of abandonment of work.
I’m not sure I’m understanding your question. Did the employee not show up for work? Did they quit without notice? In general, unless you have an employment contract with stated and agreed-upon penalties for quitting, you haven’t got a legal basis that I’m aware of for which to charge the employee anything.
Most US states abide by the AT WILL employment doctrine, meaning employees can leave at any time without notice. Therefore you’re unlikely to be able to recover damages if an employee fails to report to work.
