advertising to a specific demographic on facebook
My close friend is a novelist and is currently in the process of publishing her second novel both of which are self published through Amazon. I am extremely confident in the products issued but as she is a small (not physically 🙂 )and fairly unknown author in the North of England I am ruminating on how to propel herself and her brand into relative success. There could be said that she is aiming at a niche market as the main characters of each book are Lesbians although these are not “coming out” stories, I like to describe them in basic terms such as; Its a really good story with lots of twists and turns and a main theme but the characters just happen to be lesbians – you see I don’t write the novels! Homosexuality in 2017 still does feel like a bit of a novel thing ;-).
I thought that Facebook would be the most ideal advertising platform available -they can directly target females who identify as lesbian or bisexual and are into good stories.
Is there anyone who has any knowledge of this and could push me in the right direction?
Yes, you can target Facebook ads based on both demographics (e.g. age, gender) and specific interests. Facebook will let you enter keywords under “Detailed Targeting,” which can be additional demographics, interests or behaviors. “Lesbian pride” and “LGBT culture” are both examples of keywords you could enter here.
