Amazon vs Smashwords
To Krista Fabregas: I would value your advice. I predict that my proposed e-book on gardening for retirees would have appeal as a hardcover gift while recognizing the vast on line audience who are happy to read without necessarily smelling the ink and feeling the paper. I would also envisage a fair spread of colour pages supporting the text. What please are your recommendations in the Amazon vs Smashwords debate? Ray Moss, Australia
I’ve never heard of Smashwords. Any reason why you wouldn’t use Amazon? I’m a big fan of publishing on popular platforms so content is easy for people to find and re-download.
I agree, Amazon is a huge platform and most people have heard of it. I have not heard of Smashwords either. If I was a retiree looking for a book on anything really, I definitely wouldn’t even think to go to anything other than Amazon.
Amazon will always be the best option, to publish your book or any other product you want to show. It has millions of people who are always aware of everything that is traded on this important electronic commerce platform, so I think you will have more success in Amazon than in that other platform that I do not know!
