Amending Prior Partnership Returns before or after making this year’s returns
I have a partnership that files September 15. In working on its books, I have made corrections to last year’s filing. I have mentioned this to my CPA who says we could amend the return. I am thinking it would be good to make these amendments before filing the new tax return, but am curious if it matters.
At this point it would be a time crunch to get the amendment done before the filing deadline, but if it would save headaches going forward, I would like to make that a priority.
What would you do if you were in my position? Thank you!
