I have a Facebook business page. I didn’t realise that every time my friends like or share my page, it costs a lot of money. I started my page in April, it is now early June & I have already paid out over £150. It is very expensive. Is there any way I can cut down on expenses but still keep my page very active with likes, shares & promotions
Any help will be much appreciated
Thank you for reaching out with your question. It’s difficult to give an exact answer without knowing your account/campaign settings, but there are a few different options.
First, assuming you are promoting your page (and thus getting charged for likes and shares), but do not want to discontinue this, try setting a spend limit (minimum is $5). Unfortunately, Facebook does not currently have a way to exclude people who have liked your page from seeing these boosted or promoted pages, but what you could do instead is create a Facebook Ad Campaign. This would allow you to utilize much more audience targeting options and exclude friends/those who already liked your page. Ads can be setup to look the same as a post and will be promoted similarly to a boosted or promoted post, but without displaying to your existing audience. It also gives you more control over cost and more insights into ad performance.
Here’s more detailed info on how to setup a Facebook Ad, including how to target ads and the different ad types. This can help you get the most out of your Facebook ad spend, and hopefully avoid wasting ad spend.
Hope this helps!
