Hello, I just read your article. I’m interested in getting my bookkeeping certification. I have well over the 4000 hrs work experience. Just need to know what the next steps are and how to obtain them. Thank you
Thank you for your post. The best way to become a certified bookkeeper is via one of the two top professional bookkeeper organizations: AIPB and NACPB. To learn more about each entity’s requirements, you should contact them directly. You can also become certified through local or online college courses. Costs for training will vary depending on where you train.
The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) certification cost is $479 for AIPB members and $574 for nonmembers, which includes the application fee, all the workbooks, and the exam fees. For more information, click here
The National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB) cost is $400 for NACPB members and $600 for nonmembers. There are several free study tools available to you if you decide to become a member. In addition, they offer an exam prep course for $1,596 for NACPB members and $1,996 for nonmembers.
