booth in the mall
Greeting, so I’m trying to open a waffle booth inside the mall that near me. The mall is so busy, but the problem is that I need to have a custom booth and I do not know where to find it here in USA. Also, as you know, the mall management office has different ways than retile store, so what can I do to win a good deal from them. Another question is that, I have only 15k and that’s why I’m trying to open a booth, do you think this money will be enough to start up? Also, all my friend said this is not a good idea to open a waffle booth inside the mall because people will not like. I just came to USA five years ago and yes I do not have enough experience to know weather people will like or not. thanks
I would do a lot of research before jumping into this. You’re going to have equipment, staffing, buildout, insurance, and licensing costs, plus you’ll have to commit to lease costs over a term. If you can, try to get hired on in a food establishment in the mall — even part-time — to learn the ropes. Hope this helps, good luck!
Definitely talk to a commercial real estate professional who can help you in negotiations. I used to work at one of the largest international firms and it’s actually amazing how much they can help you. Not sure about how it is on the retail end as I specialized in industrial real estate, but you may be able to get a tenant improvement allowance and a lower lease rate… But it sounds like you definitely need to do some market research and set up a business plan, I wouldn’t move forward without at least doing those two things.
