I have a small business which became a C-Corp due to advice from a tax preparation guy who I left back in 2009 to get my corporate taxes done with TurboTax. T-T is nice, supports Federal, Colorado, Oklahoma state tax returns, but but does not support the Oklahoma Franchise tax return. T-T is getting more expensive, yet it also no longer provides detail tax question-answering like it did 3 years ago. I heard there was a recent change of ownership and/or management. Maybe other C-Corps like mine aren’t as happy with T-T as previously.
Our C-Corp business recently became very simple (revenue only royalties on our own software plus farm rent and oil royalties on 2 Oklahoma farms). We have no employees and no payroll needs, but we have to use C-Corp tax returns.
Do you have any similar vendor evaluations for C-Corps like you provided for home and small business tax returns?December 29, 2017 at 11:36 pm #143483
Glad you liked the article. We currently don’t have any other articles that evaluate tax prep for C-Corps; however that is a great idea. While there are a lot of tax software providers out there, these are really the top 3 that most small businesses are using.
There are several tax products that are used by tax professionals which you may be interested in. I found the following article that includes about a dozen other providers. While the professional version is pretty pricey, you may find that they offer versions for small businesses like yourself:
Let me know if you find something that works better than TurboTax.
