What is the process for a municipality to go from QuickBooks Desktop to Cloud with 14 separate funds?August 21, 2018 at 8:39 pm #236369
That is a great question. Typically when I hear the word “fund” I think nonprofit. Are you a nonprofit organization? If you are, QuickBooks Premier for Nonprofits can generally handle the needs of a nonprofit better than QuickBooks Online. However, if you are not a nonprofit, I recommend that you consult with a QuickBooks ProAdvisor who can walk you through the requirements for converting your existing fund accounting set up from desktop to online.
Check out our How To Find A QuickBooks ProAdvisor guide which includes resources and tips on how to find a QuickBooks expert. You could also check out our How To Convert from QuickBooks Desktop to Online to get a sense of the steps that will be required to convert over. However, I do recommend that you consult with a professional first sense you want to make sure all of your historical fund accounting data transfers over correctly.
