Do I need to find a broker before submitting real estate salesperson application?
I passed my real estate exam for the first time in my life this month. Now I’m filling out the application. It asks whether my license is active or inactive. I don’t have one yet and never had one before. Another form, called the certification of legal presence, is also asking for a license or NMLS number. I don’t have either. Do I put in N/A?
Hi Jas –
Congrats on passing your real estate exam! That is a major accomplishment. Each state has different requirements for filling out these forms. Check with your state licensing board to get the exact answers to these two questions. Because these are legal forms, you do not want to put the wrong answer – even if it is only a placeholder like N/A.
