I read your article on best 3rd party logistics companies that included Fitbob. I contacted FitBob and am still waiting for a response. Yelp is filled with terrible ratings for them. On what experience and criteria did you include them on your list ?
We feature ShipBob in many fulfillment pieces — if you tried to contact a FitBob, that could be the issue.
Our criteria include pricing, warehouse locations, average shipping time, platform integrations, self-monitored backend system, and our own blind study for vetting these types of operations (based on my experience as an ecommerce seller who’s used fulfillment centers, plus handled in-house fulfillment for more than a decade).
While I do respect online reviews, I also know that many ecommerce startups have little knowledge of how the fulfillment process works, the actual costs involved, and program expectation. In my vetting, ShipBob is very good about addressing all of these at the startup level, plus its back-end helps you track your products and order fulfillment rates in real-time.
I don’t understand the basis for some reviews since they don’t jibe with my experience. However, not every fulfillment center is a good match for every seller, so vetting several outfits and even running a test program with a select line or collection is generally the best way for any operation to find a fulfillment match. If you’d rather use a fulfillment center with phone support up front (something ShipBob doesn’t offer) check out the FulfillmentCompanies.com — it’s a fulfillment matchmaker that you can use for free.
Hope this helps! Good luck,
