How do I get a minority grant to help me start a small business
I’m interested in starting my own Cigar Lounge in Maryland or Virginia and serving Alcohol, Food and Cigars. How do I get started with this process
Thanks for posting this question here in our forum! The process to setup any business is going to be time consuming and there will be plenty of legal hoops to jump through. Serving alcohol will add in extra steps of making sure you’re licensed by the alcohol board of your state (or states). You’ll also need to make sure you get liquor liability insurance, which is an added expense above other startup costs.
Getting the funding necessary will likely require that you look into financing. There are minority business grants available, but your type of business may not qualify for most of them. I would suggest reading our article on minority business grants to find the needed resources to begin your research on finding a grant program that might work for you. Good luck!
