How did you begin the process of starting your business?
I am looking into selling on Amazon, but I’m not familiar with how everything works. I’ve done some research, and I have some ideas on what I want to sell, however, I’m nervous about actually going through with it. Could you give me some advice on selling on Amazon and help me with starting my business?
If you don’t already have something to sell, then I have two recommendations for getting started selling on (or making money via) Amazon:
1. Start an Amazon affiliate site — this takes very little upfront investment and you actually market products that are sold on Amazon and get a cut of the proceeds (basically, a commission). This is the best way to test out your business concept and brand, create an audience, and see what they are looking for. Many businesses stick to this and never invest in sourcing and stocking products themselves. However, it can be a great way to test market ideas for a product you’ll sell down the line. 2. Retail arbitrage — if you’re determined to physically sell goods on Amazon, retail arbitrage is the easiest way to get the ball rolling. In this sales method, you search out great deals on clearance goods from local stores, purchase them, and sell them on Amazon. This method takes investment since you have to purchase products, but if you learn all the tricks (click here for more info), you can be quite profitable.
