How do get SKUs and/ or UPC codes for items you want to sell on Amazon?
I’m trying to start an Amazon business and don’t understand where the item numbers come from. I have wholesale sources for my products already
Your manufacturers should have UPC codes for the items you’re sourcing, UPC codes appear on the barcode label on your product or its packaging. Amazon uses UPC codes to match items to any other listings for the same product. If your manufacturer doesn’t have UPC codes for their goods, you can purchase your own UPC codes — but most manufacturers already provide this for you. If you’re unsure about this, ask your manufacturer’s service rep.
The SKU number is the number you can create to track your stock your way. Generally, a UPC is the only must-have code to list items on Amazon, SKUs are optional. I hope this helps, good luck!
