How do I over come a product that is charged dimensional weight?
It is a horse product that is unlike any other that I invented, in fact saves lives. And once horse owners have it swear by it. But getting it to them is so expensive. Box is 28” x 28” x 16” that it ships in. I live in The Woodlands Tx. Been in business since 2010.
Do you sell them regularly? If so, a fulfillment center that gets a discount on shipping rates on oversize goods (like RedStagFulfillment.com) might provide enough savings to make the cost of outsourcing this task worthwhile. You do have other cost concerns, like their storage and packing fees, but their oversize charges are about half of FedEx’s normal fees. That can cover the other costs, and more, plus you don’t have to deal with the packing and shipping — they handle all of that for you so you can spend your time marketing your goods.
You might also find savings via an aggregate shipping service like ShipStation.com, which has a deal with FedEx called FedEx Advantage for lower shipping rates for users. You’d stock and ship the goods yourself, but label them using ShipStation via their FedEx program. I think you can save around 26% on standard Ground fees on this program. I hope this helps, good luck!
