I’m inquiring on how to set up a facebook ad for a small business and also add in hot words so my ad comes up if someone types certain hot words. Can you please let me know pricing and further details on how to get this to happen? Also what is the benefit of buying likes? Does it increase the audience further?

You’re referring to 3 different kinds of advertising:
1. Advertising with keywords is something you can do with Google or Bing. When a user enters a certain keyword or phrase into the search engine, you pay to have your site appear at the top. When somebody clicks on your website, you pay somewhere between $0.10 – $0.80, with the ability to set your own budget. Check out our article on Google advertising for more information on how this works.
2. Facebook advertising is not keyword driven, rather, you show ads to users who might be interested in your business based on their characteristics. E.g. if I had a dog walking company, I could show ads specifically to dog owners in upscale urban neighborhoods. Facebook allows you to get very specific in how you target an audience. Again, the budget is customizable, starting around $5 per day.
3. Buying likes is a kind of Facebook advertising in which Facebook shows your page to users with similar interests, and asks them to “like” it. Personally, I do not recommend this type of advertising. It winds up getting fairly expensive (~$1 per like) and users who “like” your page from it are not as likely to be interested in your business as somebody who found it organically.
Hope this clears things up!
