I have been wanting to get into the business of flipping homes but I don’t know where to start. I have been attending alot of seminars and wasted alot of money. I am presently enrolling in real estate school. I mean i took the class before but exhausted my two years so I am trying again. However, I have a fetish of flipping/rehabbing homes. But I need to find investors to help me financially and I do not know where I can meet some investors at or attend their meetings. I went to family/friends, explained my intentions, what I want to do and advised them to give me at least 6 months. I even suggested to put their names at the top of the deep which guarantees their money returning back to them first. I even tried to include people in my dream/goals and they seem like they aren’t interested nor see my vision. Can you please give me some guidance or advise where I can get a mentor to guide me through the process each step of the way?
thank you kindly and have a pleasant day…1 Reply

Thanks for visiting our site and posting on the forum. It sounds like you’re doing all the right things, I’m sorry nothing has worked out for you yet. Sometimes friends and family members have good intentions but don’t necessarily share your vision or passion for a business such as flipping houses. I think getting your real estate license is a great idea. I got mine after I started investing in real estate and it helped a lot because you know what is hitting the market, how to negotiate, and are familiar with neighborhoods, inventory and contracts. I agree, In terms of finding a mentor, once you join a real estate brokerage you may find one there. Also, join some local real estate investing groups by doing online searches or trying the meetup app or even the local Chamber of Commerce. Go to networking events, attend open houses and meet title company and mortgage broker contacts. The more people you know in the industry, the more likely someone may want to give you some advice or recommend a partner. Also, check out our real estate investing section for more up to date content on flipping houses.
