I’m new. I was told to use my personal number for business. What do I do now?
Hi. I’ve just started in real estate. I’ve read your article real-estate cold calling scripts. It’s great and very useful scripts thank you for sharing.
However, I was told to use my personal phone number for business as well so they had it printed on my business cards and everything. I did ask at the time whether having a different number would be more appropriate they said no as I wouldn’t want to be carrying around two phones.
I wasn’t comfortable with that but I didn’t know I had a choice. What do I do now?
There are many reasons to have a separate phone number – such as privacy, safety, and ease of expense reporting. You do not need to carry another phone. You can use a service like Grasshopper or RingCentral to get a vanity phone number that is easy for customers to remember. Plus, it rings over to the phone you have without giving out your personal number.
A vanity phone number might be something like 1-800-sell-home.

Of course, it does mean changing your business cards, but it might be worth the effort/expense. You might want to check some of these suggestions for software and tools for new agents > https://fitsmallbusiness.com/best-real-estate-software/.
