Initial QB Setup
I recently purchased QB online. I have already set it up initially connecting my bank and credit card accounts. What I need help with is getting the system up to speed to include downloading all expenses (receipts) from earlier in the year up to now. Once I get everything in place, I will be able to take it from there.
I’m curious what it might cost for such an activity and if there are resources locally that might help. I have a new small company so there are not a lot of transactions to consider.
Hi Robert, thank you for your question. I can recommend a few resources where you can get help with QuickBooks Online. The first one is our free QuickBooks Online course. We have created a step by step course that includes both written lessons and videos on how to get set up and run your business using QuickBooks Online. After you get caught up with your expenses our course can teach you the basics of QuickBooks Online so that you can manage your books. Here is the link to our course: https://fitsmallbusiness.com/free-quickbooks-online-tutorials/.
You can hire a QuickBooks ProAdvisor to help you get caught up with your expenses. QuickBooks ProAdvisors are certified in one or more QuickBooks products. Below are two websites that will allow you to search by zip code to find a local expert in your area.
1. Intuit Find a ProAdvisor site: http://proadvisor.intuit.com/search/index-standalone.html?v3#/landing
2. Accountex site: https://network.sleeter.com/search
I have been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for 9 years and I can tell you that when it comes to fees for setting up QuickBooks, it will definitely vary based on a number of factors. In general, depending on if a ProAdvisor is a bookkeeper or CPA you can generally expect to pay an hourly rate of $40 & Up. It might be worth your while to hire a ProAdvisor for a couple hours of training to teach you how to update your QuickBooks file with all of your expenses yourself.
I hope this information was helpful. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
