Is there still hope for me ?
I live in Orange County, California, unfortunately I never graduated from High School. I will be 50 this year and have literally dreamed of being a real estate agent since I was 11 years old. It’s never too late and Im ready to begin. Is it mandatory to have a GED/High school diploma to obtain a real estate license?
Thank you for you time and for your article it was very helpful !
Hi Sylvia –
Good news! I do not think that California requires you to have a high school education to get your real estate license. However, you will be required to complete other educational requirements to attain that license as part of your training to sit for the agent exam. To be sure to confirm this information before you get started, I would reach out to the Orange County Association of Realtors and be sure to ask them as well. They can really provide some wonderful information to get you started in the right direction as well, and help you make connections in your area. Best of luck!
