John Bo Boedecker
Sir, I have started a new position with a start-up firm called Lightstanza. URL id below. I am a long term “big sales” professional. Linked-in below . I would appreciate your feedback regarding a different position tittle other than sales. It “Must” be in line with my experiences from a pride perspective. I created a role called engagement manager when i pioneered outsourcing at ibm – but that doesn’t work. The idea is for it to be less threatening and at the same time represent a position of credibility / decision making / consulting / etc… Principle wont work because a requirement is paper / education – i think + the founder is a principle. Thanks in advance Henry.September 25, 2018 at 12:20 am #252196
Congrats on your new role. I would suggest you and your employer take a look at common sales job titles and find something that you can agree upon. Here are the top 10 most common.
Another option is to go to a job board like Indeed, and search for jobs similar to yours to see what other companies use as job titles for positions that do similar work or hire people with similar backgrounds. Consider titles with the word director or executive included (for credibility) and consider relationship, customer or client instead of sales to make it less intimidating.
Best of luck to you, “relationship manager!”
