Hello Bill, what I want to do is buy some cheap land for 20,000 to 30,000 and set some mobile homes on it. Would that be and good investment?
Thank you for your question. Buying land for mobile homes can be a very good investment, but there are some things that you’ll need to consider. Based on local requirements, you’ll probably need to put in utilities to accommodate mobile homes. Two of your biggest challenges will be getting water taps (unless there is already local water service to the property) and septic or sewer hook-ups for each mobile home (again – this will be easier if there are already sewer lines at the property).
For more information on how this would work, you may want to consult with your local zoning board once you’ve identified some specific parcels.
You may also want to check out our ultimate guide for How to Invest in Land, which can give you some ideas for who to work with to buy a parcel that you know can be used for a mobile home park.
Hope this helps.
