Does a cabinet manufacturer that goes to job site measures for custom cabinets and then goes back to their shop manufactures cabinets then takes them to job site and installs need manufacturing product liability insurance?
You should speak with an insurance expert or lawyer that can help you through all of your insurance needs. We don’t give legal advice, but I would recommend having product liability insurance. It seems to me that since your products are custom made they have a potential to cause harm to your customer’s property. If the cabinets don’t hold up or there is something wrong with the wood then they could break and damage your customer’s goods that are kept inside them.
If the product becomes faulty it could also do damage to their home. These events might also be covered in a general liability insurance coverage. You really should sit down with an insurance provider and get specifics around what is covered and what extra coverages you might need.
