Pertaining to size maximums in certain city areas.
If I own a building, let’s say a 6 story building in a downtown area, and I have a massive exterior wall with no windows visible from a busy downtown street, how do I find out what I’m allowed to advertise on that wall? As in the maximum size and any other restrictions that may be present in my city or the area?
Thanks for your question. The advertising guidelines vary greatly from city to city and even within municipalities. There should be a department that handles this and will be able to give you some guidelines and let you know size restrictions etc. The department can be found in the licenses and inspections, zoning or planning departments of a municipality. The department name is also different in different areas. If you have a city 411 type number I would call that and see which is the correct department or go on your city’s website and do a search.
Best of luck,
