I have an online retail shop and we often do pop up shows or sell from the house. Shopify is our business site used. Do I need to create a receipt for cash sales? And if there are multiple sales do I need to do each on individually? Otherwise how do I post cash deposits?
Thank you,
Rebecca
Hi Rebecca,
Laws vary state-to-state, but you’re generally not required by law to provided a receipt for a retail transaction, according to FreeAdvice Legal.
That said, if you use a Shopify retail package with a cash drawer, you’ll be able to print receipts very easily.
Best,
Jeremy
