Customer using quick books insists that it will not calculate a total that may include credits, my stance I that a prompt pay of a statement balance must factor credits into the total prior to calculating a discount. How should I advise the customer to proceed?
Hey Howard, if I understood your question correctly you want to know whether or not quickbooks will take credits into consideration when calculating an outstanding statement balance and my answer is yes it can. However, I don’t necessarily agree with the statement that discounts should be applied to an outstanding balance that includes credits. In general, a credit is issued to a customer because they have returned product and/or a refund is due for some other reason. With that said, it is not fair to the customer to reduce their credit by applying a discount.
