Question about Maryland RE salesperson licensing
Hello, if I take Maryland’s required 60 hours of classroom work, do I need to affiliate with a broker before taking the state exam? I have the time now to pursue a license now but do not want to immediately go into sales….once licensed, can I be dormant on my license? If yes, for how long before my license lapses? Thank you!
You don’t need to affiliate with a broker to take the exam, but you do need to affiliate with a broker in order to get your license and start working as a salesperson. Hope that helps.
I am fairly certain that you can delay becoming affiliated for around a year after passing your exam but I would double check this with the Maryland licensing commission to make sure.
