Thank you for accepting my question. I am a consultant working for a small capital management firm located in the midwest. My background is pr/marketing and I have always sub’ed the press release distribution work out to an agency on retainer in my past lives.
Now that I am handling this on my own, I honestly do not know the best course of action. The scenario: small capital management firm that has 5 or so notable transactions a year — would I be best served to go the route that I am most familiar — developing relationships with a short list of top editors/bloggers and send to them as well as on social media outlets — or enlist the help of one of these services to distribute a release that I will write? I should also add that our budget is minimal.
Thanks in advance for your time!
I would recommend that you take a multi-pronged approach: build your existing relationships with your local outlets and take advantage of press release distribution services that may have contacts and access that you do not. You can also check out our list of 30 Press Release Distribution Tips and we will have a guide on free press release distribution services forthcoming shortly.
