Re: Fees/Licensing for out of state brokers in WA
If I am a licensed broker in Florida, and I am working with a Co-Broker in Washington, what are the rules (what can we do or not do) regarding commission/referral fee or fees?
Thank you for your help!
Thanks for visiting our site and posting on the forum. This is something I would recommend asking both of your real estate brokers and if there are still any lingering questions, call the real estate commission in your state because laws vary by state. Typically, you sign a referral agreement with the other agent and you two decide on the commission split or referral fee up front. The amount varies and can be discussed by you but in my experience 20 – 25% referral fee is pretty typical.
All the best,
