I have a real estate license in Florida. Do I need to take an exam in receptacle states to sell?
Thanks for your question. Florida has reciprocity with several other states, which are called mutual recognition agreements. This means that your education requirements may be waived for that particular state, but generally, you still do need to take and pass the exam in the state that you plan to sell real estate in. I would recommend contacting the real estate commission in the state you want to sell in and finding out the guidelines since they do change from time to time.
Here’s our article on real estate license reciprocity.
