For a license in Ohio, what does it entail to have a sponsoring broker?
Is this easily accomplished, or does it take an arrangement where you need to sell yourself to the broker to some extent, and perhaps pledge some association to them post certification?
Can it be accomplished without such an association?

Every state operates differently, but in Ohio, you must have a sponsoring broker in order to achieve your real estate sales license. To your question, the best strategy for licensure is to approach firms that you feel will work best for *you.* Think hard about where you would want to work, what qualities are important to you, and what type of firm will offer you what you feel you need. Once you find a firm you really feel you would like, approach the broker and have a chat about whether or not they feel you might be a solid fit, and set up a meeting. While there are no rules that require that you work for a sponsoring broker, it can be incredibly beneficial to have an ongoing relationship with them and certainly makes the likelihood of sponsorship greater.
